Matt Crafton makes his 299th series start at Charlotte on Friday — which is the site of his first series win back in 2008. He’s also the standings leader entering this fifth of a scheduled 22 races. Kyle Busch will be looking for his fifth Charlotte victory in the series.

Not in it for the points? In that case, simply follow the money. That’s Saturday night’s All-Star Race features 22 drivers who will battle for a winner’s payout of more than $1 million without worrying that not finishing in the Top 10 might damage their Sprint Cup chances. The strategy here is pretty simple: Race for the checkered flag and race hard! The odds come Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Eastern Time favor defending champion Jimmie Johnson, a three-time event winner who shares the all-time victory record with Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt.
