See CV Products at GRITS and World of Outlaws Finals This Weekend

GRITSYou mention the word “grits” in the South and the first image that comes to mind is a bowl of ground corn porridge served at breakfast, usually topped with grated cheese, butter, sausage or country ham red-eye gravy. But here in North Carolina, we know that when you see the word GRITS in all capital letters, the acronym stands for the Great Racing Industry Trade Show.

This year’s inaugural show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Friday and Saturday at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center in Concord, N.C. And since CV Products is such a big part of the racing scene — especially in North Carolina — you can expect to see us both days in Booth No. 1232, where we’ll be showing off our new Sprint Car Cam Drive.

Our display is expected to draw engine builders and racers alike to get first-hand technical information on our shiny new car cam drive from one of our experienced and knowledgeable CV sales reps.

GRITS is expected to draw racers, industry professionals and companies — and the public — anyone with an interest in circle track racing, including dirt late models, modifieds, stock cars and sprint cars. The show promises exhibitions of products and services, including a free chassis giveaway sponsored by Nick Hoffman, who just opened his own motorsports company this fall and will be displaying his new Elite chassis.

Kelley Carlton, director of marketing for the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series, will talk about the “Ten traits of highly successful racetracks,” between 3 and 4 p.m. Saturday in the conference area of the trade show.

Additional giveaways will be announced at the trade show. Tickets to the show are just $5 each day and attendees can register onsite. For more information, visit www.GRITSSHOW.com.

This first-ever GRITS show coincides with the World of Outlaws racing event in Charlotte, N.C., with the trade show scheduled during the day and racing on the Dirt Track at night. In addition to manning a booth at the GRITS show, CV Products will also be trackside with a parts truck supporting the racers competing in this event.

And racing is the name of the game this weekend in Charlotte for the 6th annual PEAK Motor Oil World of Outlaws Finals, presented by NAPA Auto Parts. The finals will feature winners of the Late Model Series and the big-block modifieds of the Super DIRTcar Series as they compete for top spots in their series championships.

Drivers to keep an eye on include:

  • Donny Schatz — he leads the points in the Sprint Car Series for the PEAK World Finals
  • Darrell Lanigan — he’s eyeballing his second title in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series
  • Matt Sheppard — he’s currently leading the points in the Super DIRTcar Series and could win his third consecutive championship

Qualifying begins Thursday, with racing on both Friday and Saturday. For package or one-day ticket information for the World of Outlaws, visit http://www.charlottemotorspeedway.com.
