If we were to guess, the last thing you’d expect us to share here on the CV Products Blog is that we’ll be exhibiting at this week’s North Carolina Aerospace Supplier Conference, scheduled for Thursday at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. — just a half-hour’s drive northwest of CV headquarters in Thomasville.

NCASC_1_000But it’s true. We’ll be there all day, showcasing Xceldyne’s and Advanced Motorsports Coating’s (AMC) capabilities specifically for the aerospace industry. (And you probably thought we were just a motorsports company!) In particular, our sales manager Kevin Foster will be doing the heavy lifting in our booth, chatting up aerospace industry representatives in attendance at this one-day conference.

The goal of the conference is to promote and grow North Carolina’s aerospace industry by bringing together North Carolina users, purchasers, manufacturers and suppliers through education, networking and growth opportunities. In addition, the conference is intended to offer a platform for participants to share “best practices” in order to provide job growth, financial stability, and a stronger aerospace industry in the state.

And make no mistake about it. Aerospace is a big deal in our home state. In fact, North Carolina got in on the ground floor, so to speak, with the first powered flight by Orville and Wilbur Wright at Kitty Hawk back in 1903. And here are some other interesting facts that tie the Tar Heel State to the aerospace industry:
