Josh Powers CV Products

Josh Powers, Ecommerce Specialist – CV Products

Editor’s Note: Welcome to the first of what will undoubtedly be many Meet The Team blog posts. These particular posts, which we’ll publish on the order of one or so each month, give you — our customers, and trade partners — an opportunity to get to know the dynamic staff here at CV Products. Those of you who have met us trackside or have had the pleasure to interact with our employees somewhere else already know that we’re passionate about introducing the latest technology to the racing industry. But there’s more to us than that!

To kick things off, we’d like to introduce you to Josh Powers, CV Products’ ecommerce specialist. Josh joined our team in the summer of 2006 and has held positions in the sales and purchasing departments. He presently dwells within the marketing department where he finds plenty of use for his undergraduate degree in information technology with a concentration in web development, not to mention a master’s degree in information systems.

Here’s Josh, in his own words:

CV Products: Who are you and what do you to do here at CV Products?

Josh Powers: My name is Josh Powers and I’m an Ecommerce specialist, making sure the online shopping experience here at CV Products is simple and painless for our customers. I also ensure that the content on the website is up to date by collecting and loading data and make any necessary changes to our company’s websites.

CV Products: What did you do prior to coming to work for CV Products?

Josh: Before coming here, I worked for a company called Legacy ATV ( they sold new ATV parts and accessories to a wide range of customers). There, I had responsibilities in both sales and marketing.

CV Products: What attracted to you to CV Products?

Josh: One of the main things that attracted me to CV Products was the Continue reading

Victory-Junction-Pink-TruckWith temps expected to be in the 70s under cloudy skies in Thomasville, it’s looking to be a comfortable jaunt for those participating in CV Product’s 5K Walk/Run this Saturday.

So far more than 50 participants have already preregistered for the event, which will benefit Victory Junction and the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma — two organizations that have the health and welfare of children foremost in mind.

A half dozen of our own employees are penciled in for the race, including three of our accounting staff members — Denise Lanier, Belinda Conrad and Nidia Cruz. In addition, three of our warehouse team members are participating, including David Heaton, who finished fourth in last year’s event; Elliott Vickers, who took third-place honors in 2011; and Robert Peele.

The walk/run begins at 8 a.m. sharp with the pink Victory Junction truck — pictured above, donated by singer Taylor Swift — leading the pack out of the parking lot beside the football stadium at East Davidson High School. The finish line is at our headquarters at 42 Tech Blvd., and a Victory Junction camper will be on hand to hand out awards to the winners.

If you’re interested in participating, there’s Continue reading

Xceldyne RetainersWe here at CV Products aren’t in the habit of offering discounts on our retainer/spring combo, but we thought about it some and found a soft spot in our hearts, prompting us to offer 10 percent off these sought after Xceldyne retainers and PSI springs. The deal is good through the first day of October — which is next Monday. So if you’ve been thinking about scooping up some of these products, the time to act is yesterday!

These particular high-tech parts from both Xceldyne — our in-house brand of valvetrain components — and PSI, are instrumental in building high-performance racing engines, and the 10 percent discount is only available by entering rscombo10 in the Note area when purchasing on our website (or you can mention rscombo10 when placing an order by phone at 1-800-448-1223).

Our Xceldyne Valvetrain System features 8° titanium valve locks and titanium spring retainers in order for both to be properly seated to the valve stem and not rotate freely when pulled together. A proper fit for these three components ensures the strength and durability of your valvetrain. As a result, the Xceldyne 8° configuration is quickly becoming the top choice of engine builders.

Xceldyne valvetrain components feature manufactured locks and retainers that are designed to fit like a glove with our titanium valves, providing a match that we readily stake our reputation on as being the strongest, most reliable valvetrain system for any race application you might have in mind.

Our titanium retainers are CNC-machined to provide among the highest Continue reading

EZ-Up_Tent-Sale

One thing that’s often missing at race events and car venues across the country is a large supply of shade. You can always set up your gear under a tree if you get to an event early enough and scout one out, or maybe you can hole up behind a large building.

But there’s a lot to be said for heading off to a car show or tailgating event knowing full well that when you get there, you’ve literally got shade in a bag. To be specific — you’ve got yourself an E-Z Up Instant Shelter in a bag. And when we say as we did in the title of today’s post that you can set that tent up in just one minute, we’ve got some proof behind that pudding.

Take a peek at the video (see below) that shows a couple of CV Products employees tackling an E-Z Up challenge and putting up a large shelter in just 58 seconds. Heck, the video itself is nearly three minutes long. But that’s because we had so much extra time after setting up the tent that we added a blooper segment at the end:

If you’re in the market for an E-Z Up tent, now’s a great time to Continue reading

Kids Activities PicFor a fifth consecutive year, CV Products is sponsoring a pair of events that benefit charities for which our company cares deeply. We’ll be actively participating in a 5k walk/run on Saturday, Sept. 29, beginning in the East Davidson High School parking lot in Thomasville, N.C., and then a car show the following Saturday (Oct. 6) at our own headquarters, across the street from the high school.

We’ve got more information about both events below, but first we want to introduce you to the two organizations that will benefit from these timely events. This is the 5th annual running for both the walk/run and car show, and proceeds benefit Victory Junction and The Childress Institute, two organizations that focus all of their attention on children with health care needs or youngsters who have been seriously injured and require help getting through unforeseen disabilities.

Victory-JunctionVictory Junction is an 84-acre camp for special kids with health care needs. Children who attend the camp suffer from one of two-dozen chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses, including autism, cancer, diabetes, hemophilia, sickle cell and spina bifida.

Located in Randleman, N.C., the camp has enriched the lives of more than 14,000 children and families since it’s opening in 2004. The camp and its staff provides a camping experience for children from all 50 states as well as four countries. A total of 30 hospitals work with Victory Junction — as well as thousands of volunteers — each providing exceptional care to these young campers. Continue reading
