A lot of race fans have a hard time wrapping their heads around the concept of auto racing as a team sport. But it is. And like the racecars they design, build, repair or race, these teams are made up of many elements. There are the drivers, of course, the mechanics, the pit crew, the transportation folks and those who order and manage parts. Like we said, it’s a team effort.
And it’s for darned sure the whole team can’t all show up in the pits on race day. Somebody’s got to stay behind at the shop to work on car and engine setups for future races and manage the processing of ordering, stocking and supplying the hundreds of high performance auto racing parts required to make a car and its driver compete in those races. So it was these folks that we invited a cookout during the recent Daytona 500 race season kickoff. Our intent was to honor of all those hard-working parts and equipment folks who make CV Product’s participation in that famed race — and the 2013 race season — possible.
Festivities took place at CV Products’ Mooresville, N.C. location, smack dab in the middle of race week — and included big-screen coverage of the Budweiser Duels on Thursday afternoon. We served up Continue reading…
