Archives For December 2012

CV-Products-Happy-HolidaysIt’s been a busy year here at CV Products as we continue to present our performance and motor sports industry vendors and customers with the best technology and the latest — and fastest — parts and equipment available.

We want to wish all of you a happy and healthy Christmas and New Years, and we especially want to thank you for your business in 2012. And while we’re on the topic of the New Year, we’ll be celebrating our 25th anniversary in 2013 with plans to expand our trackside support program to racetracks all over the country. With a quarter-century in business under our belts, we’re just getting started.

Meanwhile, we’re taking a short break for the holidays, closing up shop at both our Thomasville, N.C. headquarters and our facilities in nearby Mooresville, N.C., on both Christmas Day (Tuesday, Dec. 25) and New Year’s Eve (Tuesday, Jan. 1).

In addition, we’ll be sending our employees home at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve (Monday, Dec. 24) and at 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve (Monday, Dec. 31).

These holiday hours shouldn’t at all put a damper your plans to gobble up great deals on high performance auto racing parts and accessories. We’re open 24 hours a day, seven days a week at www.cvproducts.com for your shopping convenience. And you can always connect with us on Facebook, Twitter or YouTube.

Season’s Greetings!

We’re happy to report that our Xceldyne Technologies division here at CV Products has been named “Business of the Quarter” by a local workforce development organization that recognizes our efforts to provide work experience and community outreach throughout Davidson County in North Carolina.

Xceldyne was named the top business for the fourth quarter by DavidsonWorks, a partnership of private and public resources delivering workforce development solutions and improvements for individuals and businesses within the county. The organization’s goal is to stimulate economic growth by providing a skilled workforce that exceeds business needs for the foreseeable future.

Criteria for the award were developed by the JobLink Business Solutions Team, which is made up of DavidsonWorks, Davidson County Community College, the NC Division of Employment Security and the NC Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Xceldyne was recognized as a business that acts as an ambassador for other businesses in our area, promoting our experience and success in providing a better outlook for local manufacturers. Between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012, we demonstrated a commitment to become even more involved with the community through the Chamber of Commerce and sponsorships of lunch and learn events, as well as business roundtable discussions.

In recent months, we’ve also served as a work experience site for a community college student studying administration, and we participated in a customized training program offered through Davidson County Community College. In addition, we worked with DavidsonWorks on its on-the-job training program. Continue reading

You can bet the entire crew here at CV Products was on pins and needles as we watched the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, on Sunday, Nov. 19. Going into the race — which was the final one of the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series — Brad Keselowski driving the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge was determined to secure Roger Penske his first NASCAR Sprint Cup title.

Keselowski did just that by finishing 15th, handing Penske Racing it’s first-ever NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship in its 23rd full-time season, and Dodge its fifth title and the first since 1975.

The reason we are so excited is because CV Products has been providing its quality in-house manufactured parts to the renowned Penske Engines team for over ten years now. In particular, the good folks at Penske Engines have relied on our Xceldyne valvetrain line and XTS drive systems to help the Miller Lite Dodge complete a zero-engine-failure campaign.

In short, Penske trusted us to manufacture and supply top-level racing components and we want to take this opportunity to thank them for their trust and their business. (Write-up continued below this amazing video of Brad Keselowski and his Penske Racing teammates winning Roger Penske his first NASCAR Sprint Cup title.):

And it’s only fitting that the Penske Engines team served Dodge so very well in its final year with Penske Racing by winning the NASCAR Sprint Cup title. It was perfect timing. Penske Racing made its first NASCAR start in Continue reading
