Archives For 2013 NASCAR Race

darlington_c_thumbDarlington Raceway in northeastern South Carolina has a race history dating back to 1950, and when it comes to the biggest and baddest stock car racing series on the planet, this weekend’s races will be the 110th such NASCAR event on this 1.366-mile track. Seven hundred NASCAR racers have competed here — 423 of them more than once. And for you trivia aficionados, you should know that more Chevrolets have crossed the finish line first than Fords (40 to 28).

Now that you’re armed with all this mental minutia, we here at CV Products hope to see you in South Carolina Friday and Saturday. Our staff will be on hand with tractor-trailer loads of our products available for sale in the pits for racers and spectators with Hot Passes alike.

Here’s how this week’s CV Products Trackside Program is lining up:

And while Long Beach and Laguna Seca each have 11 turns and are only a quarter-mile difference in length, Long Beach featured a Continue reading

That’s right. It’s going to be another very busy race weekend for the CV Products on-the-road crews with participation planned in seven events occurring in six states. We’ll be selling racing equipment and apparel at a bunch of these events, including a pair of races at the Kansas Speedway on Saturday and Sunday. For those on the Left Coast, there’s the Le Mans Series in Long Beach, California, where racers take over the city’s streets in a long-standing competition.

So check out the races below and see if you can pencil one or two for this mid-April weekend. Here’s where we’ll be:

This — the fourth race on the 2013 Camping World Truck Series schedule — was won last year by James Buescher who passed Brad Keselowski for the lead with 11 laps remaining and then held it for his first victory in his 76th truck start. He won three more races during the 2012 season to capture the series championship. In the dozen years this race has taken place in Kansas City, there has been a different winner each year.

Tequila Patrón American Le Mans Series at Long Beach

The two-hour American Le Mans Series championship continues with Round 2 this weekend at Long Beach’s 11-turn, 1.968-mile temporary seaside street course, including a long stretch of Shoreline Drive. Muscle Milk Pickett Racing, anchored by the driver pairing of Continue reading

CV_Everywhere-TruckFeaturing an exciting 2.38-mile, 17-turn track, the Barber Motorsports Park circuit is known as the “Augusta of Motorsports.” And come this Saturday — during the running of the Grand-Am Porsche 250 Rolex Sports series — spectators in Birmingham, Alabama, will be treated to the precision racing skills of drivers behind the wheel of exotic Daytona Prototypes (DP) chassis and engine combinations in addition to sleek GT machines and new for this year, sporty GXs.

It’s a busy couple of days for Alabama race fans, what with the Porsche 250 running on the same weekend at the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. And while we’ll be supporting the Grand-Am Rolex Sports series, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that our fully stocked CV Products tractor-trailer will be in the paddock area of Barber Motorsports Park (credentials required), available to all race teams over the weekend.

In addition, we’ll be at a pair of races at the Martinsville Speedway in Virginia this weekend, including the Kroger 250, which is only the second truck event we have worked so far this year. The first event was at Daytona, and our plans call for active participation in most of the truck events partnered with the NASCAR Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup that are on the schedule for the rest of 2013.

Meanwhile, here’s what we’ve got going this weekend:

This two-hour Rolex Series Race begins at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, preceded by a full day of practice and qualifying runs on Friday, as well as an autograph session from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. the day of the race. Since Rolex Series races are measured in time instead of distance, they require more than one driver. That means that in addition to tire changes, refueling and chassis adjustments, switching drivers becomes a big part of the racing strategy.

The Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway is the second race on the 2013 Camping World Truck Series schedule. Kevin Harvick won last year’s spring race at Martinsville, starting on the pole and running in front for all but two of the 250 laps. That was good enough to win the race and set a Truck Series record for most laps led in a race. Harvick and more than three dozen of his racing colleagues will be on the .526-mile oval track for this weekend’s event. Continue reading

CV-Products-TracksideFollowing the thrilling action last weekend at Daytona Beach, it’s looking like this will be a short weekend for our product trailer crews with our participation amounting to just three events in a pair of states. The schedule calls for us to make our way to the Circuit of the Americas racetrack in Austin, Texas, and Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Arizona over the first three days of March.

We only mention this in case you’re attending any of these race venues and have a hankering for some of our outstanding equipment, parts and clothing. When we say we’ve got trailer loads of stuff, we literally mean 53-foot-long tractor-trailers filled to the brim with racing products to please race participants and spectators alike.

Here’s the events we’ll be attending this weekend:

GRAND-AM of The Americas presented by GAINSCO and TOTAL

Qualifying day is Friday, March 1, for the Pro Mazda, Continental Tire Challenge and Rolex Series races, with practice runs beginning at 8 a.m. sharp! The final qualifying race begins at 6 p.m. Then, on Saturday, March 2, spectator events include a Continental Tire Challenge Fan Walk in pit lane and an autograph session prior to the Rolex Series. The 2.5-hour Continental Tire Challenge gets underway at Continue reading
